FILTRONIC®, the invention that revolutionized the industry
The history of our company dates back to 1977. In these more than 45 years of constant innovation, however, there have been some key dates that we can say, without any qualms, that revolutionised the industrial filtration sector. The most important of these dates is undoubtedly 1985. We are going to tell you what happened that year.
Mr. Luis Capdevila, the founder of this company, was an entrepreneur and a dedicated professional. After a time of immersion and study of the sector, he realised that there was an essential lack: even then, many catering establishments were faced with the problem of not being able to install extraction ducts from their kitchens, without there being any effective alternative to do so.
It is said that necessity is the mother of creativity. If to this is added an iron will and a visionary mentality, virtues that accompanied Luis Capdevila throughout his life and career, the result can only be revolutionary. And it was. The first Filtronic® conceived by the hand (and neurons and heart) of Luis Capdevila saw the light of day in 1985 and made it possible, for the first time, to reduce solid and liquid emissions and greatly attenuate odours in industrial kitchens.
This system, the design of which is still fully valid and imitated ad nauseam (although without ever reaching the same quality standards, as is often the case with the originals in all sectors) was the pioneer in allowing ductless filtration thanks to the synergic work of three stages: mechanical, electronic and electrostatic.
Mr. Luis Capdevila passed away in 1993 knowing that he had marked a before and after in the sector, but perhaps without imagining that thirty years after leaving us his invention would remain perfectly valid and having become the absolute reference in terms of ductless filtration.
