Customised acoustic insulation solutions: the silencers

You probably know us for our extractor hoods and, especially, Ductless systems. But, surprise surprise: at Luis Capdevila we also specialise in customised acoustic insulation solutions. Pyramidal foams, state-of-the-art acoustic insulation and silencers form a very important part of our catalogue. We could therefore say that the well-being of a working room is our vocation.

The topic that concerns us today is silencers. Sound insulation goes far beyond compliance with regulations. Sometimes it is simply a matter of creating a healthy, welcoming and distraction-free space. And in other environments, such as conference rooms, recording studios and some types of offices, it is essential, because the sound quality demands it.

At Luis Capdevila we have two types of silencers based on the same technology: the air flow, when it reaches the mouth of the silencer, is divided and channelled, producing a relaxation of the sound level by transforming the sound energy into heat. The difference is that in rectangular silencers, the baffles are arranged parallel to each other, whereas in circular silencers, the inner tube in perforated galvanised sheet metal is filled with rock wool.

The choice between circular and square acoustic silencers will depend on the aesthetics and specific needs of the room. Both types offer significant benefits in terms of sound insulation, creating an environment conducive to concentration and productivity.
