When choosing a belt-driven ventilation box, it is not always easy to know which model best suits the requirements of an installation. Two of the options that can raise questions are the MT and MTR<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At first glance, both are based on the same concept: a ventilation box with a transmission-driven multi-blade fan, manufactured from galvanised steel sheet and fitted with an internal belt drive. However, there is one fundamental difference: they are not designed for the same range of sizes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main difference is size<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The MT<\/strong> series includes the following models:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • 10\/10<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 12\/12<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 15\/15<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 18\/18<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    The MTR<\/strong> series extends the range with larger models:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • 20\/20<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • 22\/22<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • 25\/25<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • 30\/28<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      The 30\/28 model is also specified as a reinforced<\/strong> version in the technical data sheet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Rather than considering them as two completely different ventilation boxes, the MTR can therefore be understood as the solution for installations requiring larger fan sizes and reinforced construction in the largest models<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      What do they have in common?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      Both MT and MTR share the essential features of this range of ventilation boxes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The motor and fan assembly is mounted on a base frame, while all covers are removable, providing easy access to the equipment. The boxes are manufactured from galvanised steel sheet and are fitted as standard with a 7 mm thermo-acoustic foam lining. Other types of foam or greater insulation thicknesses are also available on request.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The drive is operated by belts located inside the box, while the electric motor is a totally enclosed squirrel-cage motor, available in three-phase or single-phase versions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      In other words: the difference between MT and MTR is not a completely different technology, but rather adapting the box to different sizes and installation requirements.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      MT or MTR? It depends on the installation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      The choice should always start with the requirements of the installation: required airflow, available pressure, available space, fan dimensions and ductwork configuration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      If the required fan falls within the 10\/10 to 18\/18<\/strong> models, the appropriate solution is the MT range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      When the installation requires 20\/20, 22\/22, 25\/25 or 30\/28<\/strong> models, the MTR range comes into play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The technical documentation specifies airflow rates of up to 60,000 m\u00b3\/h<\/strong> for the MT\/MTR range, with horizontal or vertical discharge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      A range designed to meet different requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      For this reason, the question should not really be \u00abwhich is better, MT or MTR?\u00bb, but rather \u00abwhat size and performance does my installation require?\u00bb<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      MT covers the more compact sizes in the range, while MTR allows installations with larger fans and, in the case of the 30\/28 model, reinforced construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Choosing correctly between the two means sizing the ventilation box according to the actual requirements of the installation and the fan being used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Because when it comes to ventilation, choosing correctly does not mean choosing the largest box, but the one that best suits each installation.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
