Luis Capdevila’s exhaust ceiling: a versatile, custom-designed system

The exhaust ceiling is undoubtedly one of our most popular products in the hospitality sector. It represents the perfect combination of functionality and aesthetics. Its innovative design and stainless steel construction make it ideal for customers who demand maximum efficiency without sacrificing the aesthetics of their kitchen.

Each system is custom-designed by our engineering department. A precise calculation is made of the necessary extraction and supply flow and, at the same time, special care is taken in the distribution of the filtering ceiling. In this way, maximum efficiency is achieved while reducing energy consumption. We have taken special care to ensure that our system complies with current regulations in accordance with the harmonised European standard UNE-EN 16282-3.

The design of the ceiling is prepared to adapt to all types of kitchens allowing greater flexibility in the placement of cooking equipment and in many cases, offering a more practical solution than traditional hoods.

Principle of operation

The principle of operation developed by Luis Capdevila S.A. combines the benefits of both closed and open ceiling fans.

For extraction, closed modules are used to retain and store the grease, preventing dirt from reaching unwanted places, achieving maximum hygiene and avoiding annoying drips. Another benefit of the closed extraction system is that, using flaps, the extraction can be regulated to adapt it as much as possible to the needs of each cooking zone.

The open system architecture is used for supply and induction. By creating an overpressure inside the ceiling, the air flows evenly over all the supply plates. In this way, low supply velocities are achieved, eliminating possible noise and unwanted draughts. Moreover, this system offers many facilities in the installation as it avoids the crossing of ducts inside the ceiling.

The system has been designed in such a way that it is accessible and modular. As a general rule, the dimensions of each module are 500 x 500mm. These qualities facilitate assembly and maintenance, simplify the installation of the ceiling and allow any other accessory to be installed above or below it.
